Our Purpose

To Create Economic Prosperity by Facilitating Community Leadership

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce’s purpose, to create economic prosperity by facilitating community leadership, is possible because of our members and investors who lead with action. From small businesses and entrepreneurs to major employers and public partners, you are the reason our region continues to flourish. We dedicate this Annual Report to you.

Over the last year, Chamber members launched and expanded companies, hired teams, mentored young professionals, and spoke up on key issues that shape our future. Your actions powered tangible results across the Nashville region, including 17 new business expansions and relocations, creating more than 3,000 new jobs, and generating $501.9 million in capital investment.

You also showed up for one of the region’s toughest challenges, collectively advocating for and contributing to the passage of the Choose How You Move transportation referendum. Your continued collaboration on livability and workforce solutions reflects the unique character of our business community focused on access and long-term economic prosperity.

As we reflect on the fourth year of our current five-year regional economic development plan, Partnership 2030, we continue to make measurable progress. Over 4 years, the Nashville region has added $37 billion to GDP, reached 56% educational attainment with a credential or degree, and maintained a cost-of-living index of 98.7. Today, 1,850 Chamber members employ more than 300,000 people across the region, and 340 foreign-owned companies employ 56,000 Middle Tennesseans.

We measure success in impact. Behind each data point is a business taking a risk, an entrepreneur creating value, or a partner stepping forward to solve a problem. That is what drives prosperity in our region.

Looking ahead, our commitment is clear: to celebrate, support, and amplify your impact. Every program, initiative, and partnership we undertake is built with members in mind, because your success is the region’s success.

Spirit of the Region Awards

Since 2008, the Chamber’s Spirit of the Region Awards have honored people and businesses that advance economic prosperity through community leadership. This year, we’re introducing seven new award categories designed to celebrate the significant efforts of our members and investors over the past year and to highlight their above-and beyond contributions to the forward movement of the Nashville region.
